The Explorers Dive Club is a nonprofit group promoting dive community, sharing knowledge and experience. We are a group of central NJ recreational divers representing all ages, certifications, diving interests and levels of experience. We organize shore dives, boat dives, picnics, dive vacations and other social events. Our monthly meetings feature prominent speakers in sport diving and we publish a monthly newsletter. Club meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Spain Inn in Piscataway from April through October. Join us for dinner before the meeting. There are no meetings November through March, but we hold a December holiday party, a Sunday brunch in October, an annual summer picnic and a Delaware River rafting trip in August.
The Explorers Dive Club has resumed holding their monthly meetings at the Spain Inn. Most, possibly all, club members have now been immunized against Covid-19, but guidelines for wearing masks and observing social distancing practices still apply.
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 7:30 pm. John Yavorsky has prepared a presentation of 9 favorite shipwrecks of the Carribean, including the USS Kittiwake on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, the Superior Producer in Curacao, the Bianca C in Grenada, the RMS Rhone off Salt Island in the British Virgin Islands, the Capt. Keith Tibbetts off Cayman Brac, the Antilla in Aruba, SS Stavronikita in Barbados, the MV Maverick in Tobago and the Hilma Hooker in Bonaire. There's a new aquarium in New Jersey that we haven't visited yet. The Sea Life Aquarium at the American Dream Mall in Rutherford, NJ is our field trip on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 10AM. Get discounted tickets for $29 adults and $24 child with your timed admission online. See you there!
Explorers Dive Club membership is not a requirement to sign up for these trips. All qualified divers are welcome.
As a nonprofit group we rely completely on member dues to cover our operating expenses.
The Explorers Dive Club would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our members for their support over the years. Nonmembers are always welcome to join us for dinner, attend a meeting or an event any time you are available. We hope you join the club.
Dues are $25 for individual and $30 per family per year (July – June).
